Course Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the history of archaeological research on the ancient Mediterranean world.
  2. Recognize the development of the discipline of archaeology in its historical and cultural context.
  3. Develop a general understanding of the main sites and cultures of the ancient Mediterranean.
  4. Evaluate the potential and the limitations of archaeological evidence for the study of past societies.
  5. Relate aspects of the ancient past to similar aspects of the modern world.
