KNPE 346 Strength and Conditioning Field Placement Units: 4.50
In this experiential learning course, students will immerse themselves in the daily training environment of high-performance athletes. They will gain authentic experiences implementing and coaching safe and effective movement patterns with the goal of enhancing athletic performance. Seminars, peer mentorship, and high-performance coaching opportunities will emphasize the importance of communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. By the end of this course, students will develop an understanding of how exercise professionals can support athletic development in high-performance environments.

Requirements: Prerequisite Level 3 or above and registration in a KINE Specialization and ANAT 315/3.0 and KNPE 345/3.0 and a cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher and permission of the Course Coordinator and the Undergraduate Chair in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies.

Course Learning Outcomes:
- Apply foundational strength and conditioning coaching principles to high-performance athlete training programs using appropriate training techniques and technologies.
- Demonstrate safe and effective coaching skills when working with high-performance athletes.
- Examine the connections between strength and conditioning research and current training practices to create evidence-informed training programs.
- Create and establish professional relationships with high-performance teams by effectively preparing for coaching opportunities, using effective communication skills and demonstrating and applying teamwork and leadership skills during weekly coaching opportunities.
