    Description:

Queen’s Law is hosting Reflective Practice for Legal Professionals, a three-day virtual international symposium June 22–24. Organized by Professor Sharry Aiken and Visiting Scholar Michele Leering, PhD’23, the event brings together legal scholars, educators, practitioners, and regulators from around the world to explore reflective practice as a core professional competency. Seventy-five (75) speakers from 11 countries will explore the imperatives and the methods for increasing the reflective capacity of legal professionals. Special sessions will explore what we can learn from Indigenous cultures, ways of knowing and pedagogies; and what law can learn from health about reflective practice. Dr. Denise Stockley, Professor and Scholar of Higher Education and Director of the newly formed QIESR will deliver a keynote address about how law teachers can strengthen the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning through reflective practice.

This symposium is the main event in an International Symposium Series that includes events at conferences in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom between April 16 and July 3. Find out more about the motivations and aspirations for this Series, the other events, and preliminary virtual symposium Program on the Series website.
