Members of the Queen's community are warmly invited to the annual 2026 International Women's Day (IWD) Celebration on March 5th, 2026, at the University Club, hosted by the Queen's Women's Network (QWN) Employee Resource Group (ERG) at Queen's in partnership with Women in Engineering (WIE). This event will feature opening remarks from women in leadership, networking and information sharing, and light refreshments.

International Women's Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for advancing gender equality.

Every year, a new theme for International Women's Day is announced, to encourage conversations and this year's theme, Give to Gain, highlights the power of reciprocity and support. When people, organizations, and communities give generously, opportunities and support for women multiply. Giving is not subtraction—it's intentional multiplication.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to donate to women-serving organizations.

Please note that capacity for this event is limited and registration is required.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible experiences that enable all individuals to engage fully. To request accommodation or ask about accessibility, please contact us at qwn@queensu.ca.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) help create an inclusive workplace by giving equity-deserving groups a formal structure within an organization to support their unique needs. ERGs contribute to community building within organizations and provide an avenue for all employees to learn more about diverse groups.

This event is a part of Queen’s University’s participation in #SDGMonthCanada, a nation-wide commitment to mobilizing the SDGs across campuses.
