Queen’s is recruiting up to 10 postdoctoral researchers through the Postdoctoral Researcher Competition, which will support research aligned with the university’s institutional strengths.
The fund provides two years of salary support for successful applicants who will hold a postdoctoral position at Queen’s. Candidates must be external to Queen’s at the time of application.
Each award is valued at $70,000, plus an additional $5,000 in research support per year, totaling $150,000 per recipient. Postdoctoral researchers are also entitled to benefits (approximately 25%) paid by their faculty supervisor and will have access to professional development opportunities.
“Queen’s is building on momentum created by federal opportunities such as the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards to invest in attracting bright young researchers,” says Vice-Principal (Research) Nancy Ross. “Our goal is to provide an excellent environment for these post-doctoral researchers and nurture the next generation of research leaders.”
Applications are to be submitted by Queen’s faculty members on behalf of the postdoctoral candidate. The application package must include the candidate’s and supervisor’s CVs, research proposal, a research environment statement, a support letter signed by the Queen’s faculty member, and two external letters of recommendation. Applications are due May 15, 2026.
