Registration for HR Learning Catalogue Now Open

Virtual and in-person training and development opportunities are available for employees.

The 2025-2026 is now open and offers a diverse suite of virtual and in-person professional development opportunities for employees across the Queen’s community. This year’s comprehensive catalogue delivers over 100 engaging offerings, including certificate programs and skill-driven workshops, designed to promote employee growth, collaboration, and development. Programming continues to evolve in response to participant feedback, demand for specific offerings, and the ongoing relevance of topics in today’s workplace.

“We are thrilled to continue evolving our professional development offerings in ways that reflect the needs and strengths of our people,” says Lisa Walsh, Associate Vice-Principal, Human Resources. “Investing in our employees remains a top priority, and we’ve worked to ensure our programs are both accessible and, in many cases, free of cost.”

Highlights from the updated catalogue include:

  • Data Proficiency Certificate – Consists of four core workshops designed to support Queen’s employees with practical skills and tools to improve everyday processes.
  • Writing for the Web – A new workshop that explores strategies and best practices for effectively connecting with an online audience.
  • Process Improvement – Led by EAB, this new workshop will help participants address process gaps, prioritize opportunities for improvement, and assist in designing more efficient workflows.
  • Career and Academic Advising Certificate (CAAC) – A collaborative initiative with Career Services, the Smith Business Career Centre, and the Faculty of Arts and Science, equipping employees with coaching and advising competencies.
  • Manager Learning Series – A suite of workshops to support managers in improving communication, teambuilding, change management, and leadership strategies.

Last year, nearly 2,000 workshop participants attended learning catalogue offerings, with over 135 certificate graduates, and more than 40 Queen’s affiliated facilitators leading programs across the university.

All offerings are open to employees including staff, faculty, managers, contract workers, casual staff, and postdoctoral fellows, with managers particularly encouraged to support their teams in setting development goals through the .

Exploring Leadership Program Applications Now Open

In conjunction with the Learning Catalogue launch, applications are now open for this year’s Exploring Leadership program. The cohort program is specifically designed for early-career employees (staff, pre-tenured faculty, adjuncts, postdoctoral fellows) who are not in formal, people-leading roles and are keen to understand their leadership potential at Queen’s.
