Quick tips

  • Remember Topaz is only accessible by URL.
  • Clear your (select all time) the first time you access Topaz in a new browser.
  • Don't open more than one instance of Topaz in the same browser.
  • Always log out of the system from the top right profile icon (don't just close the tab/browser).
  • All protocols must be completed in Topaz and submitted by the PI as per the UACC Policy on Principal Investigator Responsibility.
  • Submit protocols in a timely fashion (review UACC meeting dates and submission deadlines for guidance).
  • Protocols are not officially submitted until an email confirmation stating so is received and the protocol status on the Dashboard has changed from Not Submitted or Returned for Modification to Submitted.
  • All protocols undergo a preliminary review for completeness upon submission and incomplete protocols will be returned for modification.
  • While a protocol may cover multiple grants, species and models/procedures (if the scientific aim does not include multiple standalone themes better served by separate protocols) be mindful of the size and complexity of any one protocol as large protocols may require splitting.
