Funding Overview

Securing research funding can be complex — but you don’t have to do it alone. The Vice-Principal Research (VPR) portfolio provides tailored support to help researchers at every stage of the funding journey, from identifying opportunities to submitting strong, competitive applications.

Understanding what types of funding are available is the first step to building your research portfolio.

Please note, Queen's requires recovery of the indirect costs of research in all sponsored research activity, to the extent possible, while respecting the diversity of external sponsors. Indirect costs are not attributed to individual research projects but are essential to the ongoing success of the research enterprise of the university. Read Queen's Indirect Costs of Sponsored Research Policy.

Find funding that aligns with your research focus and goals

Our team curates a database of current funding opportunities relevant to the Queen's research community from a wide range of agencies, foundations and other organizations. This database includes information about upcoming deadlines, application processes, links to Queen's and agency-led information sessions, as well as other supporting resources.
